Peace On Earth

I hope all of ya's had a wonderful weekend! For those of us here in the states this weekend was the best food holiday ever.. Thanksgiving. Which is super yummy. I even cooked. I made the stuffing and yams. (My moms recipe) I did a decent job of it to. Plus I prepped everything for Dk. (He had to work at his awesome job at Whole Foods). It was a big success.

Friday for lunch we went to the German deli. We then stopped at the Vietnamese market on the way home and Saturday for Breakfast Dim Sum (Chinese) I love living here in so cal. Such a great verity. I'm sure I gained a couple of pounds but it was worth it. I'll get back to exercising as soon as the doc clears me.

I was making cards for an up coming surprise... :D This was the first card I made, however I wasn't as happy with the results so I set it aside and made some others. I'll tell you more of the surprise when that day comes.

Here's my card:

Stamps: Sentiment Close to my heart Everlasting Life, Hero arts - Flourish Ornament
I gold embossed it with Judikins egyptian powder. The paper is from Echo Park - Winter Park .

It's missing something. Not to sure what but at some point I have to move on.

I'm excited for the holiday's I have a lot of crafting to get to. Here's to having it all done shortly. :D

On day left!

Tomorrow's the "big" drawing day. I'll do the drawing around noon pst. For the post with all the information concerning the give away click here. It's not to late.

We keep hanging out with friends. Crazy.. this socializing stuff. I hope it calms down soon cuz it's cutting into my craft time.

I do have a card to share with you. I was asked to make it for Stamp Fever. They have been selling Lockheart stamps (great for coloring with copic's) and the sample card sent wasn't quite christmas-y enough so Linda gave me a new candy wreath to make a new card. This is what I created:

A close up:

I tried to keep it simple the goal is to sell more Lockheart stamps not everything else. Everything else is from Hero Arts :D The ribbon I have tons and tons of.. the spool is from Michael's.

Good luck with the drawing tomorrow. I wish every one could win.

What to do?

Holy smokes, I have 25 followers! This is really exciting. I will have to do something special. Any good ideas? I wouldn't mind doing a give away.. but what to give away? I know a few of you are not crafting folks. Help me come up with a good idea so we can make this happen. :D

I have a quick post for you today as I have a Dr. appointment. (see the previous post). I promise to keep you posted. I did have that weird eye thing today as I had to get up early. I think it's just my body saying what are you doing out of bed before the sun comes up? :D

I made this card for the Moxie fab trigger photo however I didn't enter it.. it happens. I got busy and oops. Oh well.

Hero Art did an amazing thing and tweeted it. Thanks Hero arts!

Here's most of what I used:

The ribbon is 2 different red from the local craft store. I was inspired by a head band a new young friend was wearing. It's easy to make.

I don't remember if I stamped with vintage photo or walnut stain. If I had to guess I'd say walnut stain but who knows.

I'm off to the doctor.

Katie

Update: They need to run tests. Yes my blood pressure is a little high however it's in the normal range. I'll having a few blood tests run. They are in the process of scheduling an MRA... that's an MRI but for the blood. The Doc thinks there may be something wrong with my circulation. Well see.

Wee Memories #69

I wish Monday's were easier. I woke up this morning thinking it was still the weekend. :( Thankfully waking up on Monday is done for this week. Hooray!

So what contest are you entering now you ask? Well the Wee Memories one of course. I had to participate as their sponsor is Echo Park Paper. Which is dare I say my all time favorite... don't quote me on that one yet.

I adore Echo Park Paper, their 6x6 pads are awesome. For all of you non paper folks reading this here's the 411 on paper. Paper usually comes in 12x12 sheets which is ok for some things but the patterns are really big.. to big for cards really. Plus getting the whole series can get expensive. The companies got smart and started making 6x6 paper pads.. the entire collection in one pack scaled down for cards at a great price of $6... just perfect! What makes Echo Park paper packs so awesome is they come double sided just like the larger sheets do... genius. You don't get as many sheets of paper however I don't care.

Here's my card using the ever so cool 2 sided paper, the one side pretty flowers the other side pink and white checkers:

I took a close up of the flowers so you could see how 3d they are:

Here's some of what I used:

The pearls came as a gift... I'll post about that later this week. The thread is left over from my cross stitching day's. I now keep the floss at my craft desk.

I hope you had a good weekend,

Katie

The Other Octopus

I've had this little octopus swimming around my desk ever since this post. I didn't want to file him.. he needed a home so I decided to make something just for him. I also decided I would use the one distress stain I own since everyone swoons about them.

The blue is the Broken China stain.. the gray blue is the white card that was inked with Faded Jeans I did after the stain.

It looks ok, water is kinda crazy so it fits. I'm not sold with the card. Dare I say I'm not sold on the distress stains either. I will admit it's prolly user error, but I don't enjoy them the way I enjoy the ink pads. I'd really like to see more examples. Kinda funny everyone raves about how cool they were but there really isn't much in the way of video's concerning them. I digress...

In another note unrelated to the card I got some serious loot coming in the mail thanks to my amazing friends and family. Yet another reason why Birthdays are good. :D My Mom got me the one thing I've wanting for a while.. a Big Kick :D (Amazon will sell it cheaper wait for the price to drop) very very very exciting. I haven't had the time to play with it yet. I can say it's out of the package.. it's a start.
