1st Class Samples

My first class I'm teaching is March 10th! I had the hardest time coming up with an idea. I'm working with some amazing people and I don't want to teach something that can be found in one of the other classes. Gina put my mind to rest when she said 'it's more style than anything' at least that's what I heard her say. Since the point of having classes is to bring people into the store to by stuff I decided I would focus more on the products than the techniques. My first class I choose to focus on distress stains. You've heard me say it before I'm not a big Tim Holtz fan, but I will say the man makes some amazing products which I love.

These stains have been out for over a year and there are not to many video's about them. As most of the patrons of the store are not as into the internet as I am I thought this would be a great starting point. I tried to make sure every card has a different medium/technique used order to show the variety.  Here are my samples:

This is stamping on water color paper:

Staining ribbon (it used to be white) and stamping on it. As well as using perfect pearl mist. The background is the new cup of joe chock ink. (I love how it looks on that card which is also new)
This includes staining and stamping on ribbon as well as staining paper flowers and card stock.

I used all Hero Arts stuff cuz they are awesome plus it's a Hero Arts store. Lots of fun to be had. :D  I planned on having a drawing/door prize ($5.00 gift card to the store, if there is a larger turn out I'll have two drawings). I also planned on making sure chocolate was available. Win the ladies over with bribes. I've taken a number of classes from a number of folks and have learned some good examples of what to do and what not to do. I'd like to ask you what would be some other ideas I could use to make this a great class?

Thanks for all your support!

Katie
